A Smile                                     

A smile is quite a funny thing,

It wrinkles up your face.

And when it’s gone

You’ll never find

Its secret hiding place.

But far more wonderful it is

To see what smiles can do.

You smile at one,

He smiles at you,

And so one smile makes two.

Summary

This is a poem by anonymous which describe the power of a smile. A simple smile can do a lot of  funny things. It is said that a smile can lighten the darkness of a face. Similarly , a smile wrinkles our face but it immediately  disappears  brightening our face. One smile can make two because When we smile at other, we get the same /similar reward. No doubt, a smile can make a life beautiful. It ties our relationship ,brings  two bodies closer, renews the relationship, cures the problem, and shares love  with others . Even a simple smile can be greater thing  for living. So the poet in the poem suggests us to smile for happy life

यो अज्ञातबाट रचित कविता हो जसले मुस्कानको शक्ति वर्णन गर्दछ। एक साधारण मुस्कानले धेरै हास्यास्पद तथा रहस्यमय कुरा गर्न सक्छ। भनिन्छ कि मुस्कानले अनुहारको अन्धकारलाई कम गर्न सक्छ। त्यस्तै गरी, मुस्कानले हाम्रो अनुहारमा wrinkle ल्याउँछ, तर यसले हाम्रो अनुहार उज्यालो बनाउँदछ। एउटा मुस्कानले दुई बनाउन सक्छ किनकि जब हामी अन्यमा हाँस्दछौं, हामी समान मुस्कान अरुबाट पाउँछौं। निस्सन्देह, मुस्कानले जीवनलाई सुन्दर बनाउँछ। यसले हाम्रो सम्बन्धलाई जोड्दछ, दुई शरीरलाई नजीक ल्याउँछ, सम्बन्ध नविकरण र ताजा गर्दछ, समस्यालाई निको पार्छ, र अरूसँग प्रेम share गर्दछ। एक साधारण मुस्कान पनि बाँच्नको लागि ठूलो चीज हुन सक्छ। त्यसैले कवितामा कविले हामीलाई सुखी जीवनको लागि हाँस्न सल्लाह दिनुहुन्छ ।

Ans: A smile makes a person happy although it has some secrets; therefore, the poet describe smile as a funny thing.

b. What can smile do? Elaborate.

Ans: Smile can have some positive effects on life of a person. Firstly, it makes him/her feel happy, which ultimately, leads him/her to a successful life. Similarly, ‘smile’ makes people healthy in life. Likewise, smile helps a person have good relation to other people in the family or society. Particularly, it helps us make many friends in life.

c. Do you believe that smile has a secret place to live in? Can you guess what the secret place is?

Ans: We believe that smile has a secret place to live in. The place must be within our feelings. Particularly, smile hides in our hearts because when we are sad, our smile goes there and hides for the time being.
